There are many ways to enjoy a pizza. At home on the sofa. In a restaurant. Standing in the kitchen at midnight wondering where your self-control went.

But none of these compare to the simple joy of eating pizza in Cornwall.

If you’ve never experienced it, here are five reasons why it deserves a place on everyone’s bucket list.

1. The Sea Air Makes Everything Taste Better

Scientists may or may not have studied this, but we’re fairly certain that salty sea air adds at least 27% more deliciousness to every slice.

The combination of fresh dough, melted cheese and the smell of the ocean somehow convinces your brain that you’ve made excellent life choices. Even if you’ve just ordered a pizza large enough to feed a rugby team.

2. Seagulls Keep the Experience Exciting

Dining indoors is predictable.

Dining on a Cornish beach introduces an element of danger.

At any moment, a seagull the size of a small helicopter could appear and attempt a tactical extraction of your pepperoni. It’s basically dinner and a live-action wildlife documentary rolled into one.

The adrenaline really enhances the flavour.

3. You Have the Best Dining View in Britain

Some restaurants spend millions trying to create atmosphere.

Cornwall simply provides dramatic cliffs, rolling waves, golden sand and spectacular sunsets free of charge.

It’s hard to complain about your life when you’re staring out at a view that belongs on a postcard.

4. Calories Don’t Count

This is not medically verified.

However, there is a widely accepted beach theory that walking across soft sand, carrying beach gear and repeatedly getting up to stop things blowing away burns approximately the same number of calories as eating an entire pizza.

Possibly two.

Again, we’re not nutritionists, but it feels right.

5. It’s Peak Cornwall

Cornwall has surfing, coastal walks, fishing villages and stunning scenery.

Combining all of that with pizza somehow captures the spirit of the place perfectly. It’s relaxed, slightly windswept, occasionally chaotic and always memorable.

Whether you’re fresh out of the sea, watching the sunset or sheltering from a surprise Cornish drizzle under a beach towel, pizza just seems to fit the occasion.
